This hat was inspired by the society gentlemen of Americas’ Golden Age. Leaving a trail of sophistication from Manhattan to Southampton, these charming men were the embodiment of the marriage of European tradition and American innovation.

Reminiscent of a bygone era, yet keeping with the revival of Gatsby-inspired fashion, this cap is made from extra light weight wool imported from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Made by a cottage industry of weavers who work out of their homes and garages, powering their looms with bicycles, the unique and traditional method makes the Harris Tweed a rarity- which is why we only batch make 12 of these caps in each color.

The European fabric, American design and manufacture of the cap offer the best in style, comfort and quality. The inner lining features soft lambs’ skin over the forehead and quilted polyester under the wool so that the hat always feels comfortable on your skin.

The cap has a bronze snap that allows it to be opened up in front. The snap is visible only when the hat is opened and the brim itself is malleable so that it can change from a curved baseball cap shape to a flat bill shape. Whether you wear it “this way” or “that way”, the Gatsby look is timeless and guaranteed to add a touch of old-school sophistication to your outfit.

The hat size will stretch slightly with wear. Sizes are:

Medium (7, 22”, 56 cm)
Large (7 ¼, 22 5/8, 58 cm)
Extra Large (7 ½, 23 1/2”, 60 cm)
Extra, Extra Large (7 ¾, 24 1/4”, 62 cm).

Hats like these are known as Scally Caps, Driver Caps, Ivy Caps, Irish Caps, Newsboy Caps, Flat Caps, Gatsby Caps, Hunting Caps or Cabbie’s.
