Did you know that golf originated in Scotland? This Navy Blue Golf Cap is made from hand loomed Harris Tweed from Scotland and much like the sport; it has been perfected in America.

The light weight wool used to make this tweed is imported from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The community there features a cottage industry of weavers who work out of their homes and garages, powering their looms with bicycles. The fact that this tweed is made the old fashioned way and with no electricity means that the quantities of tweed are limited. This means that hats are made in batches of only 12 or so of each color which makes them all the more special and exclusive.

Once the superb tweed has arrived to our factory in Brooklyn, it is crafted in the Mac Belford manner- to provide optimum style and comfort. The soft lambs’ skin over the forehead and quilted polyester under the wool are sewn in and a bronze snap that allows it to be opened up in front is added. The snap is visible when the hat is opened. It is invisible when snapped shut.

The brim itself is malleable to change from a curved baseball cap shape to a flat bill shape. This is truly a hat for all occasions- from the course to the corporate!

The hat size will stretch slightly with wear. Sizes are:

Medium (7, 22”, 56 cm)
Large (7 ¼, 22 5/8, 58 cm)

Hats like these are known as Scally Caps, Driver Caps, Ivy Caps, Irish Caps, Newsboy Caps, Flat Caps, Gatsby Caps, Hunting Caps or Cabbie’s.
