This yellow cap is a guaranteed attention-grabber! The beautiful tone and lightweight wool tweed make it versatile enough to wear across seasons and its bright shade makes it the ideal companion on a hunting trip.

Otherwise known as a newsboy cap, this piece will astound you with its light weight and comfort. The extra light weight wool imported from the Outer Hebrides is made by a cottage industry of weavers who work out of their homes and garages, powering their looms with bicycles to create the world-famous Harris Tweed. Their truly amazing feat of creating this pristine and delicate color without the use of electricity produces a unique and limited amount of tweed.

This rare tweed is imported to our Brooklyn millinery where we make a batch of only 12 or so caps in each color. It is here that we perfect the hat design by adding an inner lining made of soft lambs’ skin for a comfortable fit over the forehead and a layer of quilted polyester under the wool.

The cap has a bronze snap that allows it to be opened up in front. The snap is visible and contrasts the tweed color when the hat is opened. It is invisible when snapped shut.
The brim itself is malleable to change from a curved baseball cap shape to a flat bill shape.

The hat size will stretch slightly with wear. Sizes are:

Medium (7, 22”, 56 cm)
Large (7 ¼, 22 5/8, 58 cm)
Extra Large (7 ½, 23 1/2”, 60 cm)
Extra, Extra Large (7 ¾, 24 1/4”, 62 cm).

Hats like these are known as Scally Caps, Driver Caps, Ivy Caps, Irish Caps, Newsboy Caps, Flat Caps, Gatsby Caps, Hunting Caps or Cabbie’s.
