A solid brim and top with lace like weaving on the sides of the crown. There’s a double zig-zag design around the crown. This hat was hand woven straw in Peru.

Openings to put a scarf through are on both sides of the hats.

This hat was made using the same hand weaving methods as “Panama” hats that are made in Ecuador. Yet this toquilla straw hat was done in Peru.

The straw used is toquilla palm, a very flexible straw ideal for the careful bending and tight weaving necessary to make this hat.

We had these intricately woven hats carefully picked out by our emissary and hand carried back from Peru.

We have only a single hat like this, though given enough time, we could probably another woven that is similar.

The head size is Medium – about 55.5 cm (21 7/8")
The brim is about 3" wide. The crown is 4 " high.

The is no inner lining, sweat band or head band, just pure straw.
